Literature Review

This week we did a literature review on topics relating to our research in the Czech Republic.  The papers focused on hillslope hydrology, preferential flow, and soil imaging.  Doing this helped advance our understanding of fluid transport and the methods used to determine important soil characteristics.  We also gained familiarity with Fiji, an imaging software used to visually and analytically evaluate soil structure.  Our offices were not yet complete in the engineering building and so we spent our time in the new Narodni Technicka Library, a brilliantly designed structure featuring the building’s load map painted onto the floors.
