This week was short. On Thursday the Czech Republic celebrated St. Cyril and Methodius Day. Friday was Jan Hus Day. In this three day work week, we spent Monday going over our data that was collected doing the geophysics in week 5. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Dr. Martin Sanda gave us lectures on groundwater modeling. In week 4, we were shown Hydrus 1D and 2D by Dr. David Zumer, so Dr. Sanda showed us how to use Groundwater Vistas 6. We looked at different examples to become familiar with the software. Eventually, we uploaded a large catchment and were able to manipulate the data with pumping wells and injection wells as well as modeling changes in groundwater levels based off of precipitation.
For our long weekends, Davida travelled to Amsterdam to visit her father, who is on vacation in Europe. Alexa and Liz spent their weekend in Budapest. I met a friend in Lucerne, Switzerland. The three pictures are of these locations, respectively.
